SMS commands to set a tracker's server and APN.

Three values to fill in.
The commands below use placeholders in lower case. Swap them for your own values before you send anything.
Host
Your server's host name, written as host in the commands. Use the IP address, shown as ip, only where a model can't take a name.
Port
The port for the tracker's protocol, written as port. You'll find it under the tracker's brand on the Tracker ports page of your portal documentation.
APN
The access point name of the SIM card's network, written as apn. Send it only when the SIM or its network changes.
Add each unit to your server under its IMEI before you send the command. Its first report then lands in the right client's account.
Commands by make.
Firmware versions differ, so treat these as a starting point. If a unit doesn't answer, check its manual, or ask us and we'll look up the model.

Passwords and spaces
The numbers in the Coban, SinoTrack and Meitrack commands are default device passwords, 123456 for Coban and 0000 for the other two. If the old provider changed them, use the new password. Teltonika commands start with an SMS login and password. If none is set, start the message with two spaces, as shown.
Reading the reply
Most units answer with OK or a copy of the new settings, then reconnect. Within a few minutes the unit should appear in your connection log under its IMEI. No reply usually means a typo, a missing # or a SIM without airtime.
Keep a record of each batch.
A simple sheet saves time when a client calls about a unit that went quiet.
- The old server and port for each model, in case a unit has to go back
- The date each unit moved, so you can compare its history on both platforms
- Units that didn't answer, with the SIM number and the client they belong to
- Which command worked on which firmware version, for the next batch
Questions about tracker commands
What does the 0 at the end of the GT06 command mean?
It sets the connection to TCP, which most trackers and servers use. Leave it as 0.
Should I use a host name or an IP address?
Use the host name wherever the model accepts one. If the server ever moves, units set to a host name follow it without a new SMS. Units set to an IP address need a new command.
Can I send a command to many trackers at once?
Yes, through a bulk SMS service, once the command has worked on one unit of that model. Send it in batches you can check on the same day.
